Same bottle, same content?

Just because a cleaning product looks exactly the same in different countries, that doesn't mean the content is the same. That's why consumer organisations in three Nordic countries – Sweden, Finland and Denmark – are now testing more than 160 products to see how big the differences are, depending on which side of the border that the consumer lives. Our laws are somewhat equal, but are the products?

Test 1: Toilet cleaners – do we really need them?

Some toilet cleaners are so bad at cleaning you might as well just use the brush. That shows our first test in the project.

Test 2: Hand dishwash – too many chemicals

You don't need to add harmful chemicals to produce an effective hand washing detergent, shows our second test.

Test 3: Laundry detergents – loaded with chemicals

Our third and last test shows that there are many chemicals in laundry detergents that can be left out.

The final report: 6 challenges

In the final report we identify six challenges that consumers meet while choosing the best cleaning products.
